|Black Samurai||Toxic Spirit|
|Casualties and losses|
Akira Mori chases down a toxic spirit that he has seen previously, works with informer to try and isolate the toxic elements, and disrupts the spirit.
Black Samurai catches sight of the spirit once more in Puyallup. Through tracking, astral sight, and a considerable amount of time on the back of his motorcycle, Akira chases the spirit to the neighborhood west of Hart's Lake. He follows the spirit to a cabin in a field at the edge of a large wood. Inside he finds an aura of toxic magic, mage artifacts, and the large mangy wolf spirit growling, but not attacking.
Black Samurai calls up Sword, who travels to Sam astrally. The massive free spirit confirms the spirit's toxicity, and notes that by destroying any artifacts used in summoning, Sam may be able to interrupt the spirit's toxicity in some way. Sword disappears, and Sam destroys a box that is overwhelmed with the toxic mage's signature. The wolf split into a small, scared spiritual wolf pup and a massive toxic spirit, and combat begins.
The swordsman and the high force toxic spirit clash; neither can find an opening on the other. The spirit stops momentarily to empower their strength to enormous levels, but--as he does this--Sam finally strikes true and disrupts the spirit.
The wolf pup spirit barks from the doorway, bounds out, and jumps on Sam before also fading into the astral.
Akira Mori decides that the land, tainted by this toxicity, needs to be returned to nature. He finds that the abandoned shack is owned by a small environmental group, who allow him to live on the land and cleanse it for several months. Sam moves his lodge to the area, plants a garden, and begins to demolish the old cabin to rebuild a new structure that doesn't impede the natural growth of the area.

I have moved my stone circle and fishing materials to the cabin; parsley, rosemary, mint, lemongrass, garlic, and several other herbs are planted, and I've began removing the rotten structure. I'll need solar panels to ensure commlink service and a water filter, but I plan to keep everything else off the grid where possible. To that end, I've begun digging the pit for the outhouse and digging the firepit. Finding a potbellied stove has been more difficult so far.
This transition will take time, as will cleansing this area. But--as I find myself able to be more selective about jobs, I'll be glad to have a place outside of the nasty vibes of Loveland.
